Hi Kevin! Tell us a little bit about your background and what got you into digital content creation and advertising.
element242 has been in the Boise valley in one form or another since 1997. We began as a television production company, creating local sports shows with the likes of the Boise Hawks, Idaho Steelheads, and Idaho Sneakers. In the early 2000s, we experimented with Podcasts and other online ventures, ever-evolving and learning to not only consume — but create — digital content.
We expanded from producing digital video content on websites and YouTube, to a broader marketing view that now includes digital advertising on all popular search engines and social media channels — although storytelling is still at the heart of what we do.
We boast a combined team experience of more than 75 years in broadcasting, digital content creation, web development, and advertising agency work.
What you are currently doing or working on?
Summertime for us is tourism time, so we’re working with the McCall Chamber of Commerce on Facebook and Instagram video ads as well as Google search, display and video ads to promote extended stays and weekdays deals. We’re doing the same for Brundage Mountain, promoting their mountain biking, scenic chairlift rides, and free Friday concerts to help drive more folks from the Boise area and within McCall to spend some time up there. We also helped the Idaho Fish & Wildlife Foundation eclipse $1 million in elk, trout and bluebird vehicle license plates so far this year, using Facebook and Instagram video ads, so we’re proud of that one.
We’re also advertising some of our retail clients who are active in summer, like CoverTech of Idaho, Western Siding and others, along with designing content and campaigns for our partners who are gearing up for late summer and fall seasonal sales or promotions, like Nampa Floors and Boise Baroque Orchestra.
What are some of your thoughts on the Boise design/creative scene and your goals professionally?
I love the creative scene in Boise. There are so many entrepreneurs and small businesses who’ve really found a niche in providing targeted and strategic services and campaigns for clients, and this city is also full of some very talented people, in tech, and in art and design.
